Fashion & Food in Paris
By Mary Joubert
As a dedicated student of both Art and the French language during my high school years, I was fortunate enough to have the incredible opportunity to visit Paris for the very first time when I was 16. This experience truly marked the beginning of my deep love for travel, which was artfully intertwined with a passion for experiencing various cultures that are rich in fascinating history. Over the years, Larry and I had embarked on multiple exciting trips to Italy and Spain, but it wasn't until my persistence finally got him to Paris that a new chapter unfolded for us. Much like my own feelings, he quickly fell in love with the city, and we are eagerly looking forward to heading back there in the Spring before setting off on a delightful road trip through the picturesque region of Bretagne.
Whenever we travel, I find immense joy in capturing the distinctive fashionable flair that Europeans possess. It is truly remarkable how individuals, ranging from toddlers to those well into their nineties, always seem to be so well coordinated in their attire. This attention to detail adds an extraordinary aesthetic quality to the beautiful places we visit.
The food culture we encounter is on an entirely different level altogether. I am utterly obsessed with the remarkable quality and creativity of the diverse dishes we get to try. As a passionate foodie, I often return home from each trip with a fervent desire to recreate some of the recipes that left such a lasting impression on me. For instance, after a memorable trip to the breathtaking Dolomites, I returned home and attempted to make Crafuncins. They are simply extraordinary—definitely worthy of a search online if you're curious. The culinary offerings in Paris represent a true encapsulation of inspiration drawn from the entire country. From the flaky, buttery perfection of Croissants Beurres, to the savory delights of Bretagne Galettes, and of course, the iconic Boeuf Bourgogne hailing from the Bourgogne region, alongside the beloved classic French Onion soup and, last but not least, the adventurous Escargots, every dish is an experience in itself.
